Rating: - The most entertaining holiday entertainment ever!
Super fun and entertaining. I have watched it at least every year (first live, then VHS and now DVD). I am so glad the DVD version is out. Worth every penny!
Rating: - Best Nutcracker Ever!!
It would just not be Christmas without The Nutcracker Ballet and this is the definitive version for the Baby Boomer and post Baby Boomer generations. With all of the cultural references we can relate to from Barbie to GI Joe. From Television Yule Logs to Snow Ball Christmas Tree Lights. Oh yeah and the dancing is fantastic. Rating: - Now This Is A Nutcracker To Be Seen!!
Mark Morris Dance Group is led by arguably the most talented choreographer of the day. His musicality is surpassed only by his wit and creativity. This irreverent adaptation of the Nutcracker is actually in many ways closer in intent to that of the original E. T. A. Hoffmann story. A must see!!!

I viewed "The Hard Nut" at BAM in NYC it's openning night, and returned the following night for a repeat. Yet the filming of this production was an impressive ... Read More
Rating: - Hard Nut DVD
A delightful modern skit on a classic Tchaikovsky theme. More enjoyable if you see the classic version first to see how it has been changed but still retains the flavor of The Nutcracker.
