Description: 'Slayers is a slice of old school that’s worth every penny' -- Play Magazine
In a land far from their own, a band of adventurers stumble into a prophecy and must once again save the world… but at what price? Meet Lina Inverse, a spunky sorceress with a penchant for fire, who enjoys nothing more than liberating the unearned from those less deserving. Teamed up with her not-so-heroic group of friends, this seeker of fame and fortune finds herself the unlikely savior of a story long foretold. To defeat the coming darkness, sacrifice will be asked of them all… And how does one balance the worth of two worlds, when one must be saved at the cost of the other?
26 Beautifully Remastered Episodes magically priced for only $39.98!
Amazon.com: The third and final season of the slapstick fantasy Slayers comprises one continuous adventure, although the complicated storyline stumbles and falters, not unlike its heroine, red-haired sorceress Lina Inverse. In addition to her usual friends--dim, blond swordsman Gourry; chimera Zelgadis; and Amelia, the advocate of justice--Lina is joined by Filia, a golden dragon who looks like a human. Filia recruits Lina because she believes the sorceress is the figure in an ancient prophecy who can prevent the destruction of the world. The improbable quintet must keep a demon-lord from entering their dimension by gathering five ancient weapons, one of which is Gourry's Sword of Light. The plot halts about halfway through season, while the characters get involved in send-ups of 'Alice in Wonderland' and 'Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers.' During the latter misadventure, Gourry comments with rare perception, 'We're just getting further and further from the main plot, aren't we?' The rambling script allows for the requisite gags, enormous meals, powerful spells, and temper tantrums as characters appear, disappear, and reappear. Entrusting Lina and her pals with magical super-weapons feels a bit like giving Excalibur to the Three Stooges: the Supreme Elder of the Golden Dragons frets, 'I still don't know if we should be entrusting the fate of the world to you people.' But fans ofSlayersknow that Lina Inverse always comes through in the end, which is why the character appeared insix OVA's, and five features.(Rated TV PG: violence, risqué humor, alcohol and tobacco use) --Charles Solomon

Rating: - The Conclusion to the Adventures of Lina Inverse and her friends.
Lina Inverse and her comrades have come along way since the first Slayers Series. In this series, Lina and the others are going all out in this adventure. Our heroes have to take an evil force that could be behind the death of two powerful races: the monster race and the dragon race.
Rating: - Gods, Monsters and Dragons!
The wall between the inner world and the outer world has fallen. Now Lina Inverse and her gang of Heros must go forth and explore, educate and learn. No, just joking. They want food, treasure and easy answers to all their problems. Well, as you can guess, they won't be getting any of that. Dragons, Gods and Monsters are now fighting each other but not to destroy each other but to stop the end of the universe. That's right, not just the world but all the worlds. If they can get along enough ... Read More

the product has both the english dubbed abd original japanese language options and plays perfectly. the packaging looks good though i have never been a big fan of placing dvd's on top of each other.
Rating: - Slayers Trifecta!
Well, I reviewed seasons 1 & 2 so here goes. "Slayers Try" is typically viewed as the weakest of the three seasons. This is almost certainly true, but it's still Slayers, which is to say it's awesome. If you're a huge Lina Inverse fan then consider this yet another must-buy. If you're not; well, this season won't change your mind. The story is one that spans the entire season rather than being broken up into smaller arcs as previous seasons were and many supporting characters are left in ... Read More
