Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Timelash
"Timelash" is a pretty typical Doctor Who adventure, which is to say it's not phenominally great, but isn't all that bad either. Colin Baker gives a good performance as our hero, and Paul Darrow (Avon of "Blake's 7") is a decent theatrical villain, but Peri is reduced to being the damsel in distress, menaced by a giant snake -- or at least the long neck and jaws of some unseen creature.

The set-up is standard: a megomaniacal leader controls his people with android enforcers and punishes ... Read More

Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - "Another expedition into the realms of duplicity"
This 1985 serial has the Doctor revisiting a planet to find it has fallen under the dictatorial rule of a mutated scientist who uses a device called a timelash to eliminate any opposition. He must not only free the populace but also avert an interplanetary war in the process.

The two leads are less irritating with each other than they were in the earlier The Mark of the Rani but the Doctor is still a bit rude and overbearing for my tastes (though he has a few good moments as well), and ... Read More

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - awsome
what can I say, the more Doctor Who that is released the better the world is. long awaited release

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - OMG, my eyes!
Timelash, the story fans love to hate. The DVD still gets a decent rating because you know its bad like a Plan 9 from Outer Space, but what one is really rating on these releases is the quality of the presentation.

The extras on the disc are thin, but I can see why 2 | Entertain wouldn't want to spend extra cash to do some CGI effects for the story. It would have ruined it!

The main meat of the extras is the documentary "The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly" about the making and ... Read More

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - One of the most disliked stories in Doctor Who history
I've never found this one as bad as some have made it out to be. NO, it isn't the best but it isn't the worst either. This is one of those stories that, if you keep a sense of humor, you may actually enjoy it. I've always thought that Colin Baker was a great Doctor but in a time when the production was going downhill. Colin does a very good job and once again makes the story. The scene where he's talking to HG Wells on the TARDIS is fun and it's nice to see all the 3rd Doctor references after having the ... Read More
