Rating: 2 out of 5 stars - waste

Rating: 1 out of 5 stars - Buyer Beware!
This DVD release of Savage Weekend is not the complete movie; it's a badly butchered, heavily censored version. Why? Who knows. But you don't want this. If you're looking for it because you're a fan of Caitlin O'Heaney, you especially don't want this.

Rating: 2 out of 5 stars - Good Titles - Poor Quality
Some great B grade to Z grade movies that are often hard to find, so if the movie you're looking for is in this collection then be warned that the quality of the source (old video)is no match for any reasonable expectations.
Example: The Invasion of the Bee Girls is still much clearer on my 30 year old video copy than it is on the DVD version.

The B/W ones are reasonably clear and I prefer to watch these than the washed out -no contrast - over saturated colour versions.

Millcreek (the production company) seem to have done little to fix up the source stock, or maybe the source stock was incapable of being fixed.
Too bad! If you are desperate for the titles then I recommend that you buy this collection, otherwise try and find it yourself as an original.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - An amazing potpourri of trash, sass, and even a handful of classics...
God bless companies like Mill Creek. Whoever came up with the genius idea of creating these '50-movie packs' should be given an award. Simply put, if you're a fan of weird/cult/B movies, then this is a must. I've only watched roughly half of the movies in this set to date and I can STILL say this is a great value! You get everything from low-budget monster movies (BEAST FROM THE HAUNTED CAVE) to fake documentaries (LEGEND OF BIG FOOT) to Italian schlock fests (TRAUMA, DEVIL WITH SEVEN FACES) to cannibal films (SLAVE OF THE CANNIBAL GOD) to the infamous blaxploitation/kung fu hybrid TNT JACKSON!

Of the movies I've watched, the following are really worth seeing:

ABSOLUTION: A terrific, underrated slice of English gothic set at an all boy's school. One of the best films in the set.

CREEPER: Aka RITUALS. My favorite film from this set. A spooky, riveting DELIVERANCE rip-off starring Hal Holbrook; one of the most underrated horror films of the 70's.

DON'T LOOK IN THE BASEMENT: Essential drive-in trash.

DON'T OPEN TILL CHRISTMAS: Essential slasher trash.

HORROR OF THE ZOMBIES: The third "Blind Dead" film: spooky and cheesy.

INVASION OF THE BEE GIRLS: William Smith stars in this camp classic. Another essential film if you claim to be a true B-movie fan.

NIGHT TRAIN TO TERROR: Absolutely draw-jopping; and I thought I'd seen it all! An anthology film where God and the Devil fight over the souls of various characters. Claymation, gore, nudity, and dancing!

SAVAGE WEEKEND: Rather underrated and fun low-budget slasher.

SNOWBEAST: Not bad 70's TV movie; Bigfoot takes Aspen!

(Note: Included in the set are two of Dario Argento's best films, CREEPERS (aka PHENOMENA) and UNSANE (aka TENEBRE). However, if you haven't seen his films, I seriously recommend that you see them first in their uncut, pristine incarnations on DVD through Anchor Bay. The versions here serve best as comparison pieces.
